Every week I will recommend a good, graphic novel/series to check out. This is good for anyone who wants to get into comics, but don't know where to start or people who already read comics, but need something new to read.
This week it's John Layman's and Rob Guillory's Chew.
Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means anything he eats he can see everything the food has been through. After a huge bird flu epidemic the FDA banned chicken and is now the top government agency. They recruit Chu because of his talents. Chew is a down right hilarious comic, but still has a developing plot. The reader is always wondering what caused the bird flu, and are always following Chu's adventures as his boss makes him eat human body parts and other vile things to solve murders and cases.
If you are looking for a good laugh I highly recommend this, funnier than most Deadpool comics I've read and by far one of my favorites. The artist is always putting funny pictures, jokes, and references in the background that will surely make you go back and read the comic again just in case you missed something.
Showtime was going to make a TV adaptation, but Layman said on Twitter that is would not be happening. That's disappointing, but at least we have this to look forward to, isn't cute? If you want something funny, original, a little strange then this comic is for you get it now!
