I'm not a fan of the X-Men movies, but this looks cool. Plus you have to admit Wolverine fighting ninja is pretty sweet. Wolverine vs. Silver Samurai . What do you guys and gals think? Is this going to be good or bomb like the last Wolverine movie?

Top Pick Tuesday
Every week I will recommend a good, graphic novel/series to check out. This is good for anyone who wants to get into comics, but don't know where to start or people who already read comics, but need something new to read.
This week it's John Layman's and Rob Guillory's Chew.

Tony Chu is Cibopathic, which means anything he eats he can see everything the food has been through. After a huge bird flu epidemic the FDA banned chicken and is now the top government agency. They recruit Chu because of his talents. Chew is a down right hilarious comic, but still has a developing plot. The reader is always wondering what caused the bird flu, and are always following Chu's adventures as his boss makes him eat human body parts and other vile things to solve murders and cases.

If you are looking for a good laugh I highly recommend this, funnier than most Deadpool comics I've read and by far one of my favorites. The artist is always putting funny pictures, jokes, and references in the background that will surely make you go back and read the comic again just in case you missed something.

Showtime was going to make a TV adaptation, but Layman said on Twitter that is would not be happening. That's disappointing, but at least we have this to look forward to, isn't cute? If you want something funny, original, a little strange then this comic is for you get it now!

"The Private Eye" Need To Buy
Want a comic by my personal favorite Brian K. Vaughan? You got it! Do you also want creative and lovely art by Marcos Martin? (Also a huge fan, Amazing Spider-Man 655-657, Dare Devil, check out his art!) Sure, while you're at it why don't you NAME YOUR PRICE as well. "The Private Eye" is a great, new, creator owned comic. I just finished the first issue and the concept alone blew me away and I highly recommend it. Here's the plot, we have the main character code name Patrick Immelman, who lives in a world where everyone keeps their identity a secret. He makes his money as a private eye who digs up dirt on people finding out their true identities. Without giving too much away, the future is a very colorful society that wears mask and costumes to hide their faces. There is still a lot about the world that I don't know, but exploring a new world is part of the fun with this comic. It is an online comic that is compatible with PDF, CBR, CBZ. If you don't know what that means don't worry they pretty much work with any tablet, computer or smartphone and their website will guide you. This is a must read, the names alone are enough to get you invested. For new readers, original creator owned comics are always the best, and online makes it very convenient. These guys have been in the game for years and always produce platinum hits of a story. I would also like to thank Comicvine for letting me know about this story, otherwise I probably wouldn't be posting this for another couple of days and have to wait to enjoy this.
Quote and previews From panelsyndicate.com

Every week I will recommend a good, graphic novel/series to check out. This is good for anyone who wants to get into comics, but don't know where to start or people who already read comics, but need something new to read.
This week it's Joseph's Michael Straczynski's Thor.
There was a huge battle called Ragnarok where all of the gods died including Thor. Donald Blake, Thor's living alter ego, connects to the afterlife and brings back Thor. This story is all about Thor bringing back everything he has lost, his kingdom Asgard, his people, and even his enemies. He must rule a kingdom of restless warriors who he has a hard time keeping their loyalty. Loki, who is reborn as a woman, is always using tricks and undermining his brother, Thor's authority. Thor also has to balance his life with Donald Blake's, sharing the same body.

There are so many colorful characters to love in Thor's family like, the Warriors Three, Balder, and Sif. One thing that I love about this series was all the down to earth themes Thor dealt with being such a godly like hero. He visits New Orleans after Katrina, travels to Africa to fight off mercenaries, and living up to his father's standards. There is also a nice issue in there dealing with Civil War and Captain America's death. Plus there is a really great origin for Loki. If you are remotely interested in Thor then I highly suggest this series, it is by far the best Thor story I have ever read. So what are you waiting for? Get it now!

All New X-Men, All New Bendis
I have never been a huge fan of Brian Michael Bendis. I give him credit for starting the Ultimate Universe, but his "Big Event" stories would often be lackluster and make me go like this, but for all you readers who share my opinion "All New X-Men" is actually pretty damn good. The story so far is after the events of AvX; Beast went back to the past and brought the original X-Men (Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman, Angel, and himself) to the present in hopes that the present Cyclops will see the error of his ways.
One of the most enjoyable parts is all of the past characters finding out what happened to them in the future and seeing the difference between the present and past X-Men. Beast finds out that he becomes blue and furry by his own doing, Angel was reborn into a different person, Jean Grey is dead, and Cyclops became a terrorist. The original X-Men trying to fit into current times is entertaining especially with the technology and pop culture difference. Also got to love Stuart Immonen's art.
Overall I'm pretty sure that Marvel made a time machine, went back to grab Bendis at his prime to write comics now and that's what gave him the idea for "All New X-Men". If you are new to comics and curious about X-Men then check this comic out! Just read up on what happened in AvX or get that as well.
Bravo Bendis.
Bautista is Drax
WWE Superstar Dave Bautista has been cast as Drax The Destroyer for the "Guardians of the Galaxy" movie set to be released for August 1, 2014. He certainly has the body for it, but can he act the part? Bautista has been putting his foot through the door lately with acting. He has been cast in the new "Riddick" film. He was also in "The Man With The Iron Fists" as Brass Body, and though I have not seen it, hopefully he got the part because of that movie and not because of his name.

R.I.P. Robin, a tribute to Damian Wayne
It is hard to believe that Grant Morrison and Andy Kubert gave us Damian Wayne nearly seven years ago. I'll admit at first when I heard Batman had a son with Talia al Ghul I was a little skeptical and annoyed with Damian, but this is back when I didn't really have a taste for comics yet and Damian really started to grow on me. His rash and spoiled behavior became very entertaining and left room for the character to grow. Damian only ten years old killed people and even attempted to kill Tim Drake (The Robin before him)
Being raised by murderous assassins and thinking that being Robin was his birthright, you can see why Damian acted the way he did. When Batman died and Dick Grayson took over as Batman, he decided it was his responsibility to train and take care of Damian becoming the new Robin. Of course Dick and Damian never worked together before, and Damian was difficult, not wanting to follow the "no killing" policy, but eventually the two became to this day an iconic team up. Damian grew to both trust and respect Dick, a real brother like relationship.
Even after Bruce came back, Damian and Dick stayed as Batman and Robin while Bruce was also Batman, but went around the world starting Batman Inc. while Dick and Damian were responsible for Gotham.

Damian was a fun interesting character, and while he might be dead now, if you read comics you know that a character never stays dead they always find a way back. I just hope when he does come back it is done correctly and makes a good story. Thanks again Mr. Morrison and Mr. Kubert!
Suggestions for Iron Man
Want to read up on Iron Man? I would suggest the newest series by Kieron Gillen. The 7th issue came out March 6 really easy to play catch up with. There is also Matt Fraction's acclaimed run; there are volumes of that available. You can get Fraction's first paper back issues 1-6 for $13.59 on Amazon.com or the omnibus vol.1 for $26.39 issues 1-19 if you're going to be in it for the long run also on Amazon.com

"Iron Man 3" trailer
Hey guys and gals excited about "Iron Man 3"? Did you see the trailer? Well click here to check it out.
So what did we think? It seems like the US government is waging war against the Mandarin and Tony Stark has his own agenda against the Mandarin. So not only will Tony have to deal with the Mandarin, but will probably go against the military and maybe Rhodey as well. This is what I got from the trailer. Iron Men? Probably the military mass producing the armor for soldiers. Tony jumping on an iron man soldier without his suit? And don't forget about the Hulk Buster suit at the end of the trailer. It looks like it will have a more serious tone and we will see it's the man who makes the suit not the suit who makes the man kind of theme.
Comment and let me know what you guys and gals think. "Iron Man 3" comes out May 3

Fables and why you should be reading it!
Being a big "Vertigo" fan I have to say Fables is one of the most genius and best titles out there. Public domain characters such as Snow White, Bigby Wolf, Boy Blue and so on have been forced out of their castles and lush forests by an evil force known as the Adversary and made a new home in New York City. The first story arc is a murder that Sheriff Bigby has to solve, and the story goes into internal conflicts with other fables, conspiracy, espionage, and constant threat of the Adversary coming after them one day.
The series was created by Bill Willingham and Mark Buckingham, but other artists and writers have collaborated such as Mike Allred , James Jean, Matthew Sturges, Tony Akins and many more. I have to say Willingham writes all the characters so well you will grow attached to them. The stories themselves are addicting I'm always reading so I can get more back story on the characters and where they come from. Trust me there is plenty to read expanding into many side series such as Jack of Fables, which is all about the mischievous adventures of Jack Horner always looking to make the next big scheme and trying to have as much sex as possible , Fairest, stories of the female fable characters, a prequel about most of the characters before moving to New York "1001 Nights of Snowfall", "Peter and Max: A Fables Novel", "Cinderella: from Fabletown with Love", and "Fables Werewolfs of the Heartland". This year they are also having there own convention called Fabletown and Beyond.
If you're looking for a variety of genre in a big universe of a story, characters you will fall in love with, and want a huge selection and amount to read, than Fables is perfect for you. It is a mature rated title and is still an ongoing serious. This is a must read! So what are you waiting for???
Next week I'll be going over the comics I read every week and tell you whats worth buying and whats not worth buying. Also coming soon R.I.P. Robin- A look back on Damian Wayne.
